For anyone from Cambridge, or if you’re in the area at all, I have a personal plug I’d like to give.

I am working with the Cambridge Solar Challenge, which is a phenomenal project of partners HEET and Next Step Living to get Cambridge residents solar energy this summer.

The Cambridge Solar Challenge will sign up at least 100 residents this summer to install solar electric panels on their roofs. The program is supported by the City of Cambridge and is organized by HEET, an award-winning nonprofit working to reduce energy use and bills for residents.

The installer, Boston-based Next Step Living, is offering a huge 20% discount from the standard price of solar in Massachusetts, as well as offering a donation of $300 to participating non-profits. Pretty cool incentives on top of the energy you could save.

It’s a great thing. So check out the website, or if you live close come by one of the many events we will be attending this year. We’d love to see you to talk about how solar can save you money!
